The most known cure part of Cuxhaven is Duhnen. There is a wonderful long sand beach with a prelayed mud area. In Duhnen you will also find the shortly newly arranged Ahoi-Erlebnisbad. Here also lies, embedded in the generously building complex, the largest cure center of Cuxhaven in direct proximity to the Duhner beach. Beneth different kinds of the therapies you can participate in wellnessprograms, relaxation courses and health lectures. Beside Sahlenburg you can also reach Duhnen by foot or with the mud car to the island Neuwerk. The Pricken used in the mud (see photo left above) point the correct way. In the summertime there always prevails peak period. Season high point is the "Duhner mud race", the world-wide only horse race, which is fought out on the sea-bottom. The date supposes naturally an exact planning of the regarding tides, because the meeting can only be accomplished with low water.
