Our Pension in Schönau at Königssee

    
From our room we had a wonderful look to the Watzmann, it is with 2713 meters the 2nd highest mountain of
Germany. But the weather was not everytime beautiful.

With an aerial ropeway we went to the Jenner. We needed 25 minutes for the 1802 meters to the plateau.

From the plateau to the peak of the Jenner, which one reaches by means of a walking way, there is again
32 meters difference in height

On the peak of the mountain there was a beautiful view...

... but the weather became again more badly.

    
With a visit in the salt mine Berchtesgaden we drove with a mine railway
by a 650 meter long tunnel inside the mountain...

    
... with arrival inside the mountain we were located into a
large hall with 17 meters high and 3200 square meters.
To leave the hall, we must used a long slide with 34 meters,
which continued us to bring into the depth...

... in a beautiful grotto we were informed about the salt dismantling and production.
Continued with a ferry into a large salt lake with 100 x 30 meters.
After we used a slide again into the depth and a elevator, which brought us upward,
we leave the salt mine with the mine railway.
